RESPONSIBILITIES: Esperanza provides a variety of academic tutoring, referral, counseling and career services and activities to students in grades 1 ? 12 at select schools in the Cleveland Municipal School District to assist them to persist in school, graduate, and gain admission to a post-secondary institution of their choice.
The Educational Tutor/Instructional Assistant conducts tutoring sessions in the classroom, in addition to one-on-one to Middle School aged students (Grades 5 to 8) at a local Cleveland Municipal School. Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate?s degree and/or College Junior or Senior Class Status
Must be fluent in English and Spanish
Skills in math and reading
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience working with kids
Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, a high level of
confidentiality, and professionalism
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Organizational and customer service skills
Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous tutoring or instructional experience
Bachelor?s degree
Certified Teacher from K-8th
Bilingual & Multicultural Certified
SPECIAL NOTE: As a condition of hire, the recommended candidate shall be on probation during the first 90 days of employment. Candidate will be evaluation will be based on demonstrated tutoring and instructional skills during tutorial sessions with students.
POSITION STATUS: This is a part-time, non-exempt, non-bargaining unit, support staff position, minimum hiring rate: $8.50 per hour.
Work Hours: Normal Schedule: Monday & Wednesday 8:30 am ? 12:30 pm, and Thursday 8:30 am ? 12:30 pm & 2:45 ? 5:15 pm. Typically 15 Hours per week while school is open. This position requires a willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and/or weekends. *** This is a grant funded position; current funding for this position will expire on June of 2005.

Job Description:
Motivate, inform, educate, develop and coach banking center staff to ensure that financial objectives and service standards are met. Responsible for staff management to include hiring, placement, counseling and training. Develop and expand customer relationships through individual calling efforts as well as coordination of these activities with other sales personnel. Promote a network with internal support areas. Meet sales, service and operations process minimum daily actions and conform to regulatory guidelines; Bank policy; promote diversity and provide market coordination between various lines of business in the community. 40 - 55 hours per week..
Required Skills:
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate and develop employees with positive results. Strong sales aptitude required to meet financial goals and objectives. Strong working knowledge of banking center functions, regulatory compliance and internal policies and procedures. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to lead and work in a team environment. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively resolve complex customer issues.
